Design & Reverse Engineering
Reverse engineering using 3D scan data is the most efficient way to generate a CAD model from a physical object that has any kind of complex or freeform shape. While using traditional measurement techniques such as calipers to reverse engineer these complex surfaces can be difficult or even impossible. Scan data can b turned into a model representing its as-built shape or to match original as-designed features including parametric ones.
Applications such as producing CAD for rapid prototyping and legacy parts. The output can either be 100% accurate to the physical part’s dimensions (as-built), or it can reflect the part’s intended design (design-intent).
The resulting files can be delivered in any required CAD or graphic format such as Polygonal / STL meshes, Nurbs, Step, IGES, etc. And be used for inspection, mold and pattern making, tool path creation, tooling verification or additive manufacturing , 3D printing, etc
